Crisis Legal Solution (CLS) is a law firm focused on finding effective and practical solutions to complicated legal or crisis situations. We handle cases regarding criminal law relating to business, fraud, white collar crime and embezzlement. Moreover, we provide extensive legal support in crisis situations concerning conflicts of interest or conflicts between partners. We also help ensuring compliance with Polish and international law.

As a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, specialists and experts, we are a combination of a law firm and an advisory company focused on finding the simplest solutions regarding legal services. By combining two complementary competences – expert knowledge in the field of economic criminal law and crisis management skills – we are able to offer custom solutions during the implementation of projects entrusted to us. We specialize in handling cases concerning narrow branch of criminal law regarding crisis situations in business. We understand a crisis situation as one that disturbs the smoothness of company’s operations, and its solution requires a lot of subtlety, confidentiality, non-standard thinking, risk management skills and in-depth knowledge of the law. We work on cases regarding all kinds of economic crimes, embezzlement as well as ensuring compliance between the way the business operates and the prevailing legal norms.

Our team consists of legal experts as well as specialists in the field of security, crisis management and communication. The main partners in the company are Tomasz Oczkowski, PhD and Bartosz Pastuszka.

Experience

Tomasz is a lawyer, solicitor and a member of supervisory boards. He had over 20 years of practice in the field of legal services for business, he also has legal experience of several hundred court cases. He was repeatedly appointed as an expert in cases concerning unfair business practices and took part in the legal part of audits of companies during acquisition processes. He mediated in negotiations regarding the sale of enterprises, and also participated in disputes involving tax settlements and fraud.

Education and research activities

Tomasz graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, where he also completed solicitor training program (1997). He holds a post-doctoral degree in legal sciences and is an adjunct in the Department of Criminal Law of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, 

He is an author and co-author of number of publications regarding criminal law. He was a moderator or speaker at several scientific conferences.

Since 2016, he has been a member of the Second-Degree Board of Appeal to the Minister of Justice for solicitor’s examinations, he also acts as an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration in Lublin.

Experience

He is an entrepreneur and risk management specialist. He is currently developing the global NaviRisk brand for business security, cyber-security, crisis management, due diligence, and business intelligence, as well as brand protection services.

He is the founder and Chairman of IBBC Group, a company that has become a leader in risk management services in Central and Eastern Europe. IBBC Group was integrated into the Pinkerton company (Securitas Group), the oldest detective agency in the world.
He has consulted for companies and organizations on strategic analysis and business intelligence both in Poland and worldwide. He has extensive experience in corporate security and risk management. He is also competent in conducting risk reviews, business intelligence, investigative audits, and employee background checks.

Education and scientific activities

Bartosz is a Department of Management of University of Warsaw graduate, he also completed the Resilient Leadership course at the University of Maryland. He holds a detective’s license. He is the author of effective tools and systemic solutions aimed at eliminating pathologies in the business world, e.g: BSS (Background Screening Service), IPR Protection System, and Etycznalinia. pl. He is the owner and promoter of innovative tools in the area of brand protection and cybersecurity, such as Business Authentication Solutions and CyberPrevent Solutions. He is a recognized commentator on security issues. He provides coaching on security issues, business ethics, and risk management. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Warsaw. Member of the Audit Committee of the ASIS International Poland Chapter, an association of security industry professionals.
